A platform for finding rooms and roommates
ROOMS RENTING

Roomster enables users to post room rental ads and find people to live with. Despite its strong niche and large user base, the platform’s interface had become outdated and difficult to use for both new and returning users.
The platform suffered from several usability issues that affected both engagement and trust. Navigating the search experience was unintuitive and made it difficult for users to find relevant listings or roommates efficiently.
On mobile, the registration process was especially problematic, requiring too many steps and often causing users to abandon onboarding before completion.
The visual language was updated to feel modern and trustworthy, helping users feel confident using the product. The search experience was completely restructured to allow for quick filtering, seamless map interaction, and better visibility of key listing details.
Navigation across the product was made more intuitive, ensuring that users could move effortlessly between listings, messages, and their profile without confusion or delay.
The Roomster redesign significantly improved the user experience across web and mobile platforms. Key improvements included simplified navigation, enhanced visual clarity, and an intuitive interface for core tasks. This project reinforced a core principle I believe in: great design isn’t just about style — it’s about removing barriers between users and their goals.
